Organizations that have to train a lot of employees often have a trainer on staff to set up and run their training seminars. But what do these organizations do if they want to experience the added benefits of online training programs, but still want to keep their in-house trainers?
That’s right, you don’t have to turn your organization into an exclusive user of online trainings to experience the benefits that online environments can give. Here are a few tips for reaping the benefits of online training, while still keeping your organization’s valued in-house trainer.
Your trainer has already spent the time and energy creating fantastic training programs, so why not re-use that content for online counterparts? With a fraction of the time it would take to develop a training package from the ground up, you can modify your existing content into a presentation that can be viewed at any time. This is a great way for employees to review what they learned previously, or to learn it for the first time if theywere unable to attend the in-house training.
Even if you prefer to handle your training programs completely in a comfortable in-house environment, you can use online testing to track your employees knowledge and retention of information. Since online tracking systems can instantly record all results of testing, and file them away for easy access at any time in the future, you save a great deal of time and effort that would normally be spent manually grading tests and filing the results.
If you have an in-house trainer, but want to make use of an online training program, you can always have your trainer be available live via the internet to answer any questions or help users as they navigate through your training modules.
In-house trainers can be invaluable resources for organizations, but remember that you don’t have to make a choice between your trainer and online programs. You can get the best of both worlds with a little creativity in planning, and the right training provider.
