If you’ve ever heard us talk about “course conversion,” there’s a decent chance you weren’t entirely sure what we were talking about. So, here’s a better explanation of what we mean when we bring up course conversion.
Simply put, we’re talking about taking your existing training content and turning it into an online training course. Maybe you teach a certain topic in the traditional instructor-led in-house format, or maybe you show a video to a group of new employees – we can transform that content into an on-demand online training course.
It doesn’t matter to us what format the content is in – it can be a PowerPoint, Word Doc, or PDF. It can even be a video or audio recording. We just need a starting point and we’ll go to work from there.
Give us your content.
Again, the format isn’t important – the content is important. We can work with a PowerPoint, Word Doc, PDF, video, or audio recording. If all you have is a bullet-point list of items to cover, or a rough draft of unorganized thoughts, we’ll take it.
Once we have the content, we’ll look it over and put together an outline for your review. The most important thing is for us to make sure we know exactly what you need to cover in the training – and this outline is the starting point.
Once you approve the outline and we’re confident we understand your goals, we’ll storyboard the content and create the script. Then we send both these pieces back to you for another round of reviews.
This step is really important because these two items are the backbone of your course. The script you approve is exactly what will be sent to our voice talent, so if something is missing, or something doesn’t sound right, we need to know. When the script is approved, the project moves to the next step of production – audio recording and editing.
Next, we take the approved storyboard and add all the necessary visual elements. This could include text, photos, custom graphics, and more. Then we add any agreed-upon interactive exercises. If you want a test at the end of the educational material, we can use your existing test or write a test for you.
We’ll enroll you in the first version of the completed course and ask for your feedback.
After everything has been approved, we’ll put the course on the learning management system and your employees can start training. And you can start tracking their progress!
See? It’s pretty simple. And don’t worry, you’ll be involved every step of the process to ensure that the final product is exactly the way you want it.
