Every day parents face endless questions when it comes to how to best protect their children.
Is my child being bullied?I-want-to-know
Do Joey’s parents know that he drinks a lot on the weekends? Should I tell them?
If another parent knew my daughter was doing drugs would they tell me?
I worked hard to teach my son right from wrong but will he make the right decision?
Just as there are countless questions, the answers are often just as numerous and sometimes even harder to deal with. That’s where I Want to Know can help.
The I Want To Know program started with the simple goal of opening the lines of communication among parents with kids in the same school in order to empower parents to take the necessary steps to better protect their kids.
Check out the official I Want to Know website!
All schools that join I Want to Know will receive:
Instructions for implementing the program
Downloadable information to generate parents interest
Access to the online training guide
Development and access to the online password-protected parent directory
An email template for sharing information with another parent
A list of local professionals to turn to if a problem arises
Access to the I Want to Know facebook and Twitter pages
The I want to Know program facilitates communication among parents by compiling a database of parents who want to know. I want to Know helps shift the culture of silence to one of open communication by giving parents a manner in which to connect with one another and work together to help and protect the children in their community.
