Overview

Florida's Agency for Health Care Administration licenses assisted living facilities, and staff training rules are in Fla. Admin. Code 59A-36.011 and section 429.52, Florida Statutes. New employees complete a 2-hour preservice orientation before they interact with residents. Direct care staff then finish a set of short in-services within 30 days. Administrators and managers complete 26 hours of core training and pass a competency test, then keep up 12 hours of continuing education every two years.
