Will my agency accept it?

Your agency’s nurse oversees your in-service

Federal rules say in-service training may be offered by any organization and must be supervised by a registered nurse (42 CFR 484.80(d)(1)). That nurse works for your agency.

Let your supervisor know you’re completing your hours here, and give them your certificate when you finish. If your agency wants to set this up for the whole team, send them our agency page.

Questions aides ask

Is this the 75-hour training for new home health aides?

No. This is the yearly in-service for aides who have already finished their initial training and competency evaluation. It does not replace that training.

Will my agency accept it?

Federal rules let any organization provide in-service training, as long as a registered nurse supervises it (42 CFR 484.80(d)(1)). That nurse is your agency’s, so tell your supervisor you’re taking it here and share your certificate when you finish. Some states add their own rules for aides, and your agency will know them.

What is the difference between one time and every year?

One time covers this year’s 12 hours and your certificate, with no renewal. Every year renews automatically and enrolls you again each year. You can turn off renewal from Billing in your profile, and you keep access until the end of the year you paid for.

Which email should I use?

Use the email you will sign in with. If you already have an account with us, sign in first so everything stays in one place. A different email starts a second account.

Can I do it on my phone?

Yes. The courses work on a phone, tablet or computer, and you can finish them at your own pace.

Can I take it in Spanish?

Yes. The slides, narration and quiz in all 12 courses play in Spanish. Pick Español in the course player’s settings. The player buttons, checkout and certificate are in English. One purchase covers both languages.

Is this coursework approved, or does it give continuing-education credit?

No approval, accreditation or continuing-education credit is claimed for this coursework. It is in-service training: you complete your hours and get a certificate of completion.

I’m a hospice aide. Is this for me?

Hospice aides have their own bundle, the Hospice Aide 12-Hour Annual In-Service, so your certificate says hospice.
